Both Deceased Students Revealed in the Providence Campus Attack as Police Persist in Manhunt for Killer.

The pair of scholars who died in the recent violent attack on the university campus were being remembered Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their assailant continued following the release by authorities in Rhode Island of the sole person of interest in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The student Ella Cook, a second-year student from Alabama, was remembered as “a wonderful, steady, devout, shining presence”, as stated by the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which offered condolences for her at a service on Sunday.

She served as second-in-command of Brown’s chapter of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. The White House press secretary also shared condolences online, remarking: “There are no words. Thinking of her family and friends, particularly her mother and father.”

An International Student

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the Ivy League university, family members said.

The victim's identification was verified by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. His ambitions were lofty of entering the field of neurosurgery and aiding others,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a memorial statement.

The Shooting Incident

An additional nine individuals were injured in Saturday’s attack in the engineering building of Brown’s university in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Law enforcement reported on Sunday evening that a 24-year-man taken into custody in a police operation at a lodging about 17 miles from the scene earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“We have a murderer out there,” said the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you must reassess and pursue a different angle, and this is precisely what occurred over the last approximately one day.”

Community Anxiety

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, admitted: “It is expected to provoke renewed concern for our city”.

The shooter began shooting inside a lecture hall in the engineering facility on Saturday afternoon, firing more than 40 rounds from a handgun, a police source reported to the Associated Press.

Law enforcement that searched the inn found two firearms and two loaded 30-round magazines when the individual was arrested, according to reports.

The Wounded Victims

Among those wounded, one student was released from the hospital, said Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven others were in serious yet stable state, and one was in critical condition, officials reported on Sunday.

An educational institution, a private academy in North Carolina, said Kendall Turner, Kendall Turner, was one of the critically injured.

More Condolences

Cook was remembered at a church service in Birmingham on Sunday. A clergyman said, “She shone as a remarkable, stable, devout beacon not only in her youth... but at Brown she was a radiant presence in that particular place as well.”

Martin Bertao, Martin Bertao, released remarks from the organization. “She was famed for her bold, brave, and kind heart as she worked for her branch and peers,” he said.

An American diplomat, Jonathan Henick, said he was “profoundly grieved” by the student's death in a tribute. “We offer our heartfelt sympathies to his relatives, loved ones, and peers and lament the passing of his promising future.”
