Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.

Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to media reports.

"He never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a statement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, such as:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.

The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
