Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
