Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments landed in a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
